Recently it’s come to my attention that as a twenty something girl looking for answers to a variety of questions on my finances, there is no single source of information. No book or website. Not even a pamphlet. Nothing specifically tailored to me: A twenty something female, college graduate with a decent salary that feels as if it is being sucked away each month by student loans, a car payment, rent… and I’ll admit – a slight shopping addiction (albeit – nothing high end!) I tend to blow hundreds, not thousands in a trip.
Hence the creation of this blog. Twentysomething: Fabulous & Financially Savvy. This blog will be dedicated to all types of fabulous money saving tips, investment advice (stifle your yawns ladies – you will benefit and enjoy watching your money grow!), and will even walk you through how to set up your own budget and stick to it. From shopping the sales at the mall, managing your credit card payments and interest rates, to online coupons available – I promise to cover it all.
As a twentysomething gal who has spent the past five years listening to and reading drab advice from people, errr – of a much older generation – on how to save for a house, the need of a college fund for my 2.5 imaginary children, and how to invest my 401(k) contributions – I figure that fabulous girls such as you and I deserve our own place to go for advice. A place to ask questions, get help and learn how to stretch those dollar bills all the way into a new outfit, a fabulous vacation, or (gasp) – even retirement!
So ladies, check back in the coming days and weeks to ensure that 2009 is the year that you become Fabulous & Financially Savvy!
