With T-minus 3 days until Halloween, I’m getting more and more excited for the big night. Halloween is an absolutely exciting holiday for me. The costumes, the glitz, the parties, the candy (okay the chocolate) and let’s be honest – the excuse to go out in as little as possible and not be judged by all around.

I for one had my costume picked out weeks ago. I tend to head to yandy.com year after year to get the creative juices flowing and usually end up plucking up something directly off the site. This year I fell in love the minute I pulled up the website. There is was – 2 models in and fabulous. A Willy Wonka costume complete with a super cute top hat, itty bitty skirt and a royal purple tuxedo jacket with adorable coat tails. SOLD! I totally began picturing myself with the curls, black boots and an uber cute cane to match. .. so much so that I added it to my cart and it was delivered last week!
The pro’s of ordering your costume early? Lower prices and an abundance of coupon codes.
We all know that costumes and Halloween in general can leave your wallet feeling a little dark and scary itself, so why not try the following to save some funds, socialize and still ensure some spooktacular festivities!… (I know, I know – totally couldn’t help it).
Anyways:
- DIY costumes are amazing. My roomie has been putting together her costume for weeks and has barely spent the funds she would have if she had tried to purchase it. Check out your local thrift stores and outlets for pieces that would normally cost a bundle.
- If you’re ordering your costume online (or anything online for that matter), take the extra 30 seconds to check out retailmenot.com They have the most up to date coupon codes for everything and will usually save you a few $$
- Host a BYOP party. Bring Your Own Pumpkin. (We’re having one at our place tomorrow). Pop in a scary movie or even an oldie like Hocus Pocus or It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, put out some snacks, break out the knives and spoons and let the carving begin!
- If you’re hosting a party and the funds are running low for food, consider making cupcakes, rice krispy treats, bat eyes (google it) in festive colors. Super cheap and super yummy!
Hope you all have a fabulous (and safe – aka don’t drink and drive…) Halloween!

I love Halloween! Hope yours is a good one :D
