I’m a young, twenty-something, financially savvy chic that’s been preaching to her friends, family, co-workers – pretty much anyone who will listen about being financially independent, savvy, knowledgeable, whatever – for years. Now, with the creation of this blog, I can get everything out there at once and save myself the time wasted repeating.
Yes, I’m a finance professional. No, I’m not selling anything. And yes, I do think I’m quite fabulous, thank you.
I’m a recently engaged SoCal girl, living in sunny San Diego and trying to navigate my way through all the trials and tribulations of well, being twentysomething.
The following is an excerpt from my first post A Blog is Born giving a little overview of how and why this blog was created:
“Recently it’s come to my attention that as a twentysomething girl looking for answers to a variety of questions on my finances, there is no single source of information. No book or website. Not even a pamphlet. Nothing specifically tailored to me: A twenty something female, college graduate with a decent salary that feels as if it is being sucked away each month by student loans, a car payment, rent… and I’ll admit – a slight shopping addiction (albeit – nothing high end!) I tend to blow hundreds, not thousands in a trip.
Hence the creation of this blog. Fabulous & Financially Savvy. This blog will be dedicated to all types of fabulous money saving tips, investment advice (stifle your yawns ladies – you will benefit and enjoy watching your money grow!), and will even walk you through how to set up your own budget and stick to it.”
This blog is meant to be treated as a guide, so feel free to use it as such. You’ll find information on retail therapy, careers, happy hours, budgets, vacations, life after (and during) college and more. Also, from time to time I’ll be using stories from my personal life as I work towards paying off student loans, merging finances and marrying into a mortgage.
Feel free to comment, ask questions and more.
